Curl Evolution is AWESOME! My 3 year old daughter has always had a beautiful head of curls. It has always been a bit difficult to detangle, but once I did it looked great. After a week in the hospital her hair became very matted. After about three weeks of trying to work through the problem areas I accepted the fact she needed a trim (or cut) ASAP. I learned about Curly Evolution on this site, saw the great reviews, and booked an appointment right away. I called on for an appointment on Friday and was seen that very Sunday. Our appointment was with Lisa and she was great. My daughter was crying off and on throughout the appointment but Lisa was so sweet and patient. She and Amanda (the sweet lady who was going to wash my daughter's hair, had my daughter let her) worked on the stubborn knot simultaneously. They tried their best not to have to cut it, but the knot needed to be cut. Lisa cut the rest of her hair dry and left it looking beautiful. She then recommended some products that would keep my daughter's hair soft and the frizz under control. After we left my daughter kept saying how much she loves her hair. Thank you Curl Evolution. I look forward to taking my little one back to maintain her curly hair.

I'm a type 3c curly girl, and I was in need for a hair cut, and was holding off on it, due to the fact I wanted to make sure I went to a place near me, where I could walk into the salon with some trust that they new how to cut curls, and hopefully curls like mine. Trust for me is very hard when it comes to my hair. After reading multiple reviews I decided to take a chance on Evolutions! And I am 100% happy that I chose them and impressed! It's a small salon kept very neat! The staff is super friendly, and Jenna was my stylist, and she really knows curls! You could tell she has the clients best interest in mind. And I really love the cut she gave me!! It's totally worth a very reasonable price!! And my cut is growing on me even more if that's possible! I am very satisfied, relieved, and the cherry on top of the whole experience is that when I came home I got compliments right away :) double awesome! I am definitely recommending it to my sis, mom and to anyone else who wants to try out a new salon! Will be booking another appointment soon :)

All the reviews were right on the money. I drove 45 minutes and will go back again. Not only was I there for less than an hour...but I left looking beautiful..my curly hair feeling soft, bouncy, healthy, not frizzy....and with a lesson on how to do my own hair. Jessica is sweet and she listens to what you want..four days later and my hair still looks and feels amazing!! Can't wait to go back already..bringing my daughter next time!! I am so happy I came across this salon on here. I took both of my daughters ( ages 6&11) for curly hair cuts today. They came out amazing. Not only do I love the way their came but my girls do as well. Their curls look so bouncy. The staff was friendly. The salon was clean. All of the other clients looked amazing when they left. The price was beyond great. This place is a must for all curly girls on Long Island. I am going to make myself an appointment for cut and color (even though I have straight hair). I cannot say enough about Evolution or Jessica who did my curly cut. Everyone at the salon is so welcoming, warm & friendly. I read all the other reviews & thought this place sounds too good to be true. Well....I am here to let you know that they are beyond the best. I never knew how to handle my curly hair so up in a bun/ponytail it went...for years!! I tried numerous products which never helped so I gave up & gave in to the bun. Jessica took her time and explained step by step exactly what I need to do & how incredibly easy it is. Once it was trimmed & dry I looked in the mirror & literally tears came to my eyes!!! I cannot be happier!! Jessica is an absolute doll and her confidence, knowledge & skill is amazing. My hair has not been this bouncy, free & healthy since I was a kid. From The Minute I Walked Into Evolutions With My Mom (Pammycakes) And Aunt (Amymk) I Knew I Was Going To Love It. The First Time I Came, I Didnt Have An Appointment But By The End Of The Day, I Had Made 10 Stand In Appointments. I Showed Up To My First Appointment And Was Greeted By The Door By Ali, And Andrea. And A Few Minutes Later I Was Brought To JLynn's Chair. From The Second I Sat In Her Chair, I Knew She Was Going To Fix All The Damage Done To My Hair And Make It Look Beautiful. What I Didnt Know Was How AMAZING It Was Going To Turn Out Or The TRUE Magic JLynn Would Go On To Do To My Hair!! I Received So Many Compliments On My Hair Before It Was Even Done, And By The Time I Was Finished, EVERYONE Was Complimenting Me. The Truth Is, Everyone Should've Been Complimenting JLynn On The Job She Did! She Honestly Performed Surgery On My Hair And There Are No Words Great Enough To Describe How Much I Love My Hair. From the minute my sister (amy k) had told me she made me an appointment at evolutions, I was very nervous because I rarely switch hair stylists. She told me on numerous occasions how great Allison is and I had to see for myself. When I walked into the salon a few minutes before my appointment, I was greeted and offered a drink and waited a short amount of time for my appointment with Allison. My sister told me to allow Allison to give me a consult and suggest a few things for my hair. In the past, I always told hairdressers how I wanted my hair but this time I knew it was a great idea to allow Allison to decide. She explained to me that my hair was damaged from my OLD stylist and I was confident that Allison was going to fix it for me and make it better. Long story short, I got a curly cut, a toner, and a glaze in my hair and let me tell you, I COULDNT BE HAPPIER WITH MY HAIR. Allison cut my hair, put the toner and glaze in, washed it out, put me under the dryer, and then checked my cut again. Never in my life have I ever been so happy about a stylist or the way my hair was done. Not only did she make my hair amazing, but she also told me the best products to use, and the things to do with my hair unlike my OLD stylist who would just agree when I told her what I would use (Products with sulfate, and alcohol which is no good). When I say OLD stylist, I mean OLD because I will NO longer go to that place, because after only ONE time of going to evolutions with Allison, I am here to stay!!!! Absolutely Satisfied and never loved my hair so much!!!

Was in need of a haircut for months, but unsure who I would go to for my curly/kinky hair. After reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. Erica and the staff were very courteous.The salon was very neat, updated and clean. iwent to allison at evolutions today for a curly haircut. before i went to the salon i looked at this site for the review. and all of them were great. i wanted to go to deva in nyc for a haircut but its too far. i have to say i was scared at first but when i walked in, andrea was so nice she offered me a drink, and i sat down to wait. when allsion was ready for me i went into her chair and she gave me a consult and i LOVED what she said so i decided to get my haircut. let me tell you it was EXCELLENT . allison was so nice and she talked me through the haircut then i was washed put under the dryer and then back to the chair for final check of the cut. my entire experience at this salon was OUTSTANDING. why go to nyc when we long island curly girls have evolutions? allsion gave me a lesson about the clips and the deva products. i made another appointment i am definetly going back, and i will be referring my friends. amy k

I brought my teenage daughter to Erica to do a Chi Enviro treatment on her 3C hair. From the outside, it looks like an average place, but inside it's beautiful, bright and clean. My daughter was impressed from the minute she walked in. Erica made her feel so comfortable. She talked to her about what she could realistically expect the treatment to do, and about how to care for her curls. After the treatment, they blew her hair straight, and my daughter walked out feeling beautiful--not an easy thing to do for a self-conscious teen! The prices are very reasonable, especially for the level of service at the salon. I will definitely be bringing my daughter back there to see Erica again.

For years I fought my curly hair, blowing it out and using a flat iron, sometimes using chemicals to straighten it. I never found someone who was able to work with my curly hair and give me a good cut. Finally though much searching on different websites including Curly Girl, I came across reviews for Erica at Evolutions. I am SO happy I went to her! She does an amazing job! I do sometimes like to flat iron my hair so she gave me a cut that works well both curly and straight. She spent over an hour with me and really listened to my concerns. She didn't try to push products on me (although what she used worked very well so I did buy some). When I booked my hair appointment at Evolutions, I was really excited that I was finally getting a 'curly hair cut.' Erica, and the salon overall, lived up to my very high expectations. Not only does Erica know her what to do with curly hair, she listened to me. Getting my hair cut dry was such an awesome experience, and after the first few snips I already felt great. Erica showed me how to pin my hair at the roots and had a copy of Naturally Curly that I could read while letting my hair dry. I was offered a drink and complimented on my curls. I left the salon feeling, and looking, great. I have never been happier with a hair cut, and I will definitely be going back.

I used to get my hair cut by hair assistants at upscale salons in New York City such as John Fridea. After spending two-three hours getting it cut, I got fed up and decided to find a place to get my hair cut that was close to where my boyfriend lives. I found this website by doing a Google search and since Evolution received positive reviews and is located very close to where he lives, I decided to try it out. I immediately booked an appointment with Erica over a year and a half ago and since then, I've been getting my hair colored and cut by her.
I love that Erica cuts my hair dry since when it's wet, the texture and length of it changes dramatically. She also does an amazing job with color and she is realistic with what colors will work for me since I only want a single process and have very dark brown hair. The salon is unpretentious and the staff doesn't try to push you to buy products. Everyone who works there seems to have fun and is genuinely nice.
Since I've been going to Evolution, I've received much more compliments when I wear my hair done. I highly recommend the salon and I will continue to go there. Erica is the "one" for me.

Found Erica and Evolutions from this website. I lived in NYC for 20 years and had been to every curly hair salon. I was so happy when I found a salon close to home that was fantastic with curly hair!! Erica is fantastic and at $37 a cut its also a great value!! Erica is also a great colorist. All in all Evolutions is a needle in a hay stack, beautiful salon, great stylists at a reasonable prices!!! Run don't walk.

Before I stepped into Evolutions, I never was given the option of a dry cut. If I requested it, the stylist would give me a look of disbelief and continue to send me to the sink. If only they knew what a difference it makes. Erica was a fantastic hairstylist, and gave me the best haircut I have ever received. Not only was the price under what I usually paid for mediocre haircuts, everyone in the salon was extremely welcoming, offering me beverages and generally making me feel great. In the salon, Erica had a copy of Naturally Curly that I was able to read through, she showed me how to clip my hair at the roots and other curly hair tips. I thoroughly enjoyed not only my haircut, but my whole Evolutions experience, finally realizing there is such a thing as a stand out salon. I will definitely be coming back!

I discovered Evolutions by accident while surfing for photos for a haircut. I have naturally curly hair that has always been a problem, especially with friz. I had never had a curly cut in spite of other stylists saying that is what they gave me. I asked for Erica based on recommendations and was extremely happy when I left. My hair looked like I always hoped it would. She took the time to explain how to care for my hair at home to prevent friz. She not only did the cut, but the color as well. Give this place a try-you'll be glad you did.

I love this place. I have had experience with two stylists and I was absolutely was thrilled with my hair cut both times. They took the time to listen to how I styled my hair, and helped me decide what would be the best cut for me. I went back to get a second cut and get highlights (which I had never done before). They were super helpful in deciding what to do and my hair looked better than I could have imagined. I would recommend this place, both to people who know what they want, and to people like me, who have a vague idea but need a little help with the details. The icing on the cake was how welcoming and friendly they all were.

I moved to Long Island from NYC 3 years ago and immediatley began my search for a new salon. I toyed with going to the City for haircuts but with 2 small children it took up too much time and money. After finding Evolutions on this site I went for my first cut with Erica. I have been very happy with every service I have had at the salon. After years of getting my hair cut at Devachan Salon in NYC I discovered Allison at Evolutions in West Babylon. What a god send!! Although she has pin straight hair, she totally understands how to properly cut and handle curly thick hair. I have seen Alison for almost 2 years and i have never received so many compliments on my curls, people literally stop me in the street! I am soon moving 3hrs away, and I plan on still visiting Allison to get my hair cut!

A friend of mine (a curly girl who will not embrace her curls) went to Evolutions and told me that Erica cut "curly girls." I had never had a curly cut before and was becoming more unhappy with my regular cuts. I decided to give Erica a try, and from that day on I was hooked. She talked to me about what I was looking for while assessing each curl and my previous cut. She took her time and cut each curl individually (dry of course). I told her I'm really trying to grow my curls, as I always felt they would grow to a certain point and just stop. She worked with me to clean up my layers and split ends.
I was then washed, scrunched with Angel, clipped, and put under the dryer. I was a bit skeptical at first because I could feel my curls getting "crispy" from all the gel. Erica checked on me periodically and would loosen up my curls as they were drying. After roasting under the dryer for a while, Erica had me flip and she loosened the curls at the roots. I flipped over and saw the most amazing cut. I had a head of ringlets - and the best part - no frizz! (and the crispiness was gone too). I was so impressed. I have recommended Erica to many friends (and t you received $5 off when you refer a friend). The cut only cost $37, and you don't have to spend the day in the city.
I have been going back about every 6-8 weeks to keep the ends healthy and to keep up with my layers. My goal is to grow my curls to at least past my shoulders. I would, and have, highly recommend Erica to any curly girl on L.I.

Let me start by saying that I have had my curls perfected by both Erica and Allison and I have nothing but raves about both of them!!! I mostly see Allison now since she gave me the perfect wedding day hair (for a perfect wedding) in June. I've been coming to Evolutions for a few years now. As a newbie, like so many others, I hated my hair. Well, the ladies of Evolutions transformed my mop into magnificence!
Going to Evolutions is like a blessing you feel you must pay forward. I've recommended Erica & Allison to my cousin, her daughter and two friends. They're all converts. Last time I was in, I saw a "first timer" leaving Erica's chair thrilled with her cut. She looked gorgeous! I love watching them work their magic. And it IS magic!
To get such a wonderful cut, expert curl advice, reasonably priced products and great service (including hot tea!) under one roof is a thing of beauty!

I used to travel to the city to go to Devachan, but with the weather, commuting costs and the hair-cut, I have been trying not to go to the city. So far so good from the cut I got from Erica this past weekend. She cut it dry and they use Deva products. It takes about a month or two to really know how good of a Curly Cut you get as it depends if it grows out or down. But I am happy for the cut, which for $37 vs. $150 at Deva isn't so bad.

This is the first salon I have stuck with for nearly 3 years...I used to always hop around from salon to salon because I was never happy with my cut. Not anymore! This salon is a good forty minutes away from where I live, but since I heard so many good things about Erica, I decided I was ready for my first Devacut. I didn't do anything with my hair the morning of the appointment. Erica cut my hair first thing, dry and all. No wash and dry, no nothing. Simply dry without any product in it, exactly the way I arrived. This thrilled me because I've never had a stylist do my hair like this. They'd usually straighten it or cut it wet. She gave me long layers, trimmed my ends and my bangs, and then I was sent to get my hair cleansed with the DevaCurl No-Poo and hydrated with the DevaCurl One Condition. My hair takes long enough to dry on its own. Then once my hair was dry, Erica snipped at my ends a little, and pinned my bangs back so I didn't have to wear my headband. She also suggested that when I come back in the fall, I could blow my bangs straight, since right now it would be pointless with the humidity. She was really nice about everything, and my cut looks great. I purchased all the products she used on my hair, and I'll be purchasing a diffuser in the future. I already booked my next two appointments and I'm extremely satisfied. Make an appointment today - you won't regret it.

Had my first devacut last Friday and I am so very pleased with it. In the past, I have had my hair cut at Christo fifth avenue and at Arte and came away disappointed both times. Had not had my hair cut in about a year and really wanted it shaped so that it stopped having the dreaded triangle look when it dried. Erica was so very nice and made me feel at ease right away. She cut it dry, used deva products, put me under a hair dryer and I was done. I left the salon really happy with my haircut and for once didn't wait to get home to redo it or put it up in a high curly tail. I have found my curly stylist in Erica!

Had my first deva curly cut at this salon today. Everything about it was fantastic. They were so nice on the phone to me when I made the appointment, explaining the process to me. For my appointment Erica consulted with me on what I want and what my current routine was. She was so knowlegeable and taught me a lot and the haircut came really great. I had hopped around to hair salons looking for a good haircut. My last stylist used a razor to thin my hair. Needless to say, my hair had been shredded.
Erica fixed my hair and after my third haircut all of my razored ends are finally gone. My hair has never felt or looked better. Even after the first haircut I could see the difference. She is so sweet and really knows what she is doing. I will make the trip to Evolutions from now on.
Oh and she has also been doing my color which I love, I even got highlights last time. Erica is my stylist for life.

All the reviews were right on the money. I drove 45 minutes and will go back again. Not only was I there for less than an hour...but I left looking beautiful..my curly hair feeling soft, bouncy, healthy, not frizzy....and with a lesson on how to do my own hair. Jessica is sweet and she listens to what you want..four days later and my hair still looks and feels amazing!! Can't wait to go back already..bringing my daughter next time!! I am so happy I came across this salon on here. I took both of my daughters ( ages 6&11) for curly hair cuts today. They came out amazing. Not only do I love the way their came but my girls do as well. Their curls look so bouncy. The staff was friendly. The salon was clean. All of the other clients looked amazing when they left. The price was beyond great. This place is a must for all curly girls on Long Island. I am going to make myself an appointment for cut and color (even though I have straight hair). I cannot say enough about Evolution or Jessica who did my curly cut. Everyone at the salon is so welcoming, warm & friendly. I read all the other reviews & thought this place sounds too good to be true. Well....I am here to let you know that they are beyond the best. I never knew how to handle my curly hair so up in a bun/ponytail it went...for years!! I tried numerous products which never helped so I gave up & gave in to the bun. Jessica took her time and explained step by step exactly what I need to do & how incredibly easy it is. Once it was trimmed & dry I looked in the mirror & literally tears came to my eyes!!! I cannot be happier!! Jessica is an absolute doll and her confidence, knowledge & skill is amazing. My hair has not been this bouncy, free & healthy since I was a kid. From The Minute I Walked Into Evolutions With My Mom (Pammycakes) And Aunt (Amymk) I Knew I Was Going To Love It. The First Time I Came, I Didnt Have An Appointment But By The End Of The Day, I Had Made 10 Stand In Appointments. I Showed Up To My First Appointment And Was Greeted By The Door By Ali, And Andrea. And A Few Minutes Later I Was Brought To JLynn's Chair. From The Second I Sat In Her Chair, I Knew She Was Going To Fix All The Damage Done To My Hair And Make It Look Beautiful. What I Didnt Know Was How AMAZING It Was Going To Turn Out Or The TRUE Magic JLynn Would Go On To Do To My Hair!! I Received So Many Compliments On My Hair Before It Was Even Done, And By The Time I Was Finished, EVERYONE Was Complimenting Me. The Truth Is, Everyone Should've Been Complimenting JLynn On The Job She Did! She Honestly Performed Surgery On My Hair And There Are No Words Great Enough To Describe How Much I Love My Hair. From the minute my sister (amy k) had told me she made me an appointment at evolutions, I was very nervous because I rarely switch hair stylists. She told me on numerous occasions how great Allison is and I had to see for myself. When I walked into the salon a few minutes before my appointment, I was greeted and offered a drink and waited a short amount of time for my appointment with Allison. My sister told me to allow Allison to give me a consult and suggest a few things for my hair. In the past, I always told hairdressers how I wanted my hair but this time I knew it was a great idea to allow Allison to decide. She explained to me that my hair was damaged from my OLD stylist and I was confident that Allison was going to fix it for me and make it better. Long story short, I got a curly cut, a toner, and a glaze in my hair and let me tell you, I COULDNT BE HAPPIER WITH MY HAIR. Allison cut my hair, put the toner and glaze in, washed it out, put me under the dryer, and then checked my cut again. Never in my life have I ever been so happy about a stylist or the way my hair was done. Not only did she make my hair amazing, but she also told me the best products to use, and the things to do with my hair unlike my OLD stylist who would just agree when I told her what I would use (Products with sulfate, and alcohol which is no good). When I say OLD stylist, I mean OLD because I will NO longer go to that place, because after only ONE time of going to evolutions with Allison, I am here to stay!!!! Absolutely Satisfied and never loved my hair so much!!!

Was in need of a haircut for months, but unsure who I would go to for my curly/kinky hair. After reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. Erica and the staff were very courteous.The salon was very neat, updated and clean. iwent to allison at evolutions today for a curly haircut. before i went to the salon i looked at this site for the review. and all of them were great. i wanted to go to deva in nyc for a haircut but its too far. i have to say i was scared at first but when i walked in, andrea was so nice she offered me a drink, and i sat down to wait. when allsion was ready for me i went into her chair and she gave me a consult and i LOVED what she said so i decided to get my haircut. let me tell you it was EXCELLENT . allison was so nice and she talked me through the haircut then i was washed put under the dryer and then back to the chair for final check of the cut. my entire experience at this salon was OUTSTANDING. why go to nyc when we long island curly girls have evolutions? allsion gave me a lesson about the clips and the deva products. i made another appointment i am definetly going back, and i will be referring my friends. amy k

I brought my teenage daughter to Erica to do a Chi Enviro treatment on her 3C hair. From the outside, it looks like an average place, but inside it's beautiful, bright and clean. My daughter was impressed from the minute she walked in. Erica made her feel so comfortable. She talked to her about what she could realistically expect the treatment to do, and about how to care for her curls. After the treatment, they blew her hair straight, and my daughter walked out feeling beautiful--not an easy thing to do for a self-conscious teen! The prices are very reasonable, especially for the level of service at the salon. I will definitely be bringing my daughter back there to see Erica again.

For years I fought my curly hair, blowing it out and using a flat iron, sometimes using chemicals to straighten it. I never found someone who was able to work with my curly hair and give me a good cut. Finally though much searching on different websites including Curly Girl, I came across reviews for Erica at Evolutions. I am SO happy I went to her! She does an amazing job! I do sometimes like to flat iron my hair so she gave me a cut that works well both curly and straight. She spent over an hour with me and really listened to my concerns. She didn't try to push products on me (although what she used worked very well so I did buy some). When I booked my hair appointment at Evolutions, I was really excited that I was finally getting a 'curly hair cut.' Erica, and the salon overall, lived up to my very high expectations. Not only does Erica know her what to do with curly hair, she listened to me. Getting my hair cut dry was such an awesome experience, and after the first few snips I already felt great. Erica showed me how to pin my hair at the roots and had a copy of Naturally Curly that I could read while letting my hair dry. I was offered a drink and complimented on my curls. I left the salon feeling, and looking, great. I have never been happier with a hair cut, and I will definitely be going back.

I used to get my hair cut by hair assistants at upscale salons in New York City such as John Fridea. After spending two-three hours getting it cut, I got fed up and decided to find a place to get my hair cut that was close to where my boyfriend lives. I found this website by doing a Google search and since Evolution received positive reviews and is located very close to where he lives, I decided to try it out. I immediately booked an appointment with Erica over a year and a half ago and since then, I've been getting my hair colored and cut by her. I love that Erica cuts my hair dry since when it's wet, the texture and length of it changes dramatically. She also does an amazing job with color and she is realistic with what colors will work for me since I only want a single process and have very dark brown hair. The salon is unpretentious and the staff doesn't try to push you to buy products. Everyone who works there seems to have fun and is genuinely nice. Since I've been going to Evolution, I've received much more compliments when I wear my hair done. I highly recommend the salon and I will continue to go there. Erica is the "one" for me.

Found Erica and Evolutions from this website. I lived in NYC for 20 years and had been to every curly hair salon. I was so happy when I found a salon close to home that was fantastic with curly hair!! Erica is fantastic and at $37 a cut its also a great value!! Erica is also a great colorist. All in all Evolutions is a needle in a hay stack, beautiful salon, great stylists at a reasonable prices!!! Run don't walk.

Before I stepped into Evolutions, I never was given the option of a dry cut. If I requested it, the stylist would give me a look of disbelief and continue to send me to the sink. If only they knew what a difference it makes. Erica was a fantastic hairstylist, and gave me the best haircut I have ever received. Not only was the price under what I usually paid for mediocre haircuts, everyone in the salon was extremely welcoming, offering me beverages and generally making me feel great. In the salon, Erica had a copy of Naturally Curly that I was able to read through, she showed me how to clip my hair at the roots and other curly hair tips. I thoroughly enjoyed not only my haircut, but my whole Evolutions experience, finally realizing there is such a thing as a stand out salon. I will definitely be coming back!

I discovered Evolutions by accident while surfing for photos for a haircut. I have naturally curly hair that has always been a problem, especially with friz. I had never had a curly cut in spite of other stylists saying that is what they gave me. I asked for Erica based on recommendations and was extremely happy when I left. My hair looked like I always hoped it would. She took the time to explain how to care for my hair at home to prevent friz. She not only did the cut, but the color as well. I love this place. I have had experience with two stylists and I was absolutely was thrilled with my hair cut both times. They took the time to listen to how I styled my hair, and helped me decide what would be the best cut for me. I went back to get a second cut and get highlights (which I had never done before). They were super helpful in deciding what to do and my hair looked better than I could have imagined. I would recommend this place, both to people who know what they want, and to people like me, who have a vague idea but need a little help with the details. The icing on the cake was how welcoming and friendly they all were.

After years of getting my hair cut at Devachan Salon in NYC I discovered Allison at Evolutions in West Babylon. What a god send!! Although she has pin straight hair, she totally understands how to properly cut and handle curly thick hair. I have seen Alison for almost 2 years and i have never received so many compliments on my curls, people literally stop me in the street! A friend of mine (a curly girl who will not embrace her curls) went to Evolutions and told me that Erica cut "curly girls." I had never had a curly cut before and was becoming more unhappy with my regular cuts. I decided to give Erica a try, and from that day on I was hooked. She talked to me about what I was looking for while assessing each curl and my previous cut. She took her time and cut each curl individually (dry of course). I told her I'm really trying to grow my curls, as I always felt they would grow to a certain point and just stop. She worked with me to clean up my layers and split ends. I was then washed, scrunched with Angel, clipped, and put under the dryer. I was a bit skeptical at first because I could feel my curls getting "crispy" from all the gel. Erica checked on me periodically and would loosen up my curls as they were drying. After roasting under the dryer for a while, Erica had me flip and she loosened the curls at the roots. I flipped over and saw the most amazing cut. I had a head of ringlets - and the best part - no frizz! (and the crispiness was gone too). I was so impressed. I have recommended Erica to many friends (and t you received $5 off when you refer a friend). The cut only cost $37, and you don't have to spend the day in the city. I have been going back about every 6-8 weeks to keep the ends healthy and to keep up with my layers. My goal is to grow my curls to at least past my shoulders. I would, and have, highly recommend Erica to any curly girl on L.I.

Let me start by saying that I have had my curls perfected by both Erica and Allison and I have nothing but raves about both of them!!! I mostly see Allison now since she gave me the perfect wedding day hair (for a perfect wedding) in June. I've been coming to Evolutions for a few years now. As a newbie, like so many others, I hated my hair. Well, the ladies of Evolutions transformed my mop into magnificence! Going to Evolutions is like a blessing you feel you must pay forward. I've recommended Erica & Allison to my cousin, her daughter and two friends. They're all converts. Last time I was in, I saw a "first timer" leaving Erica's chair thrilled with her cut. I used to travel to the city to go to Devachan, but with the weather, commuting costs and the hair-cut, I have been trying not to go to the city. So far so good from the cut I got from Erica this past weekend. She cut it dry and they use Deva products. It takes about a month or two to really know how good of a Curly Cut you get as it depends if it grows out or down. But I am happy for the cut, which for $37 vs. $150 at Deva isn't so bad.

This salon is a good forty minutes away from where I live, but since I heard so many good things about Erica, I decided I was ready for my first Devacut. I didn't do anything with my hair the morning of the appointment. Erica cut my hair first thing, dry and all. No wash and dry, no nothing. Simply dry without any product in it, exactly the way I arrived. This thrilled me because I've never had a stylist do my hair like this. They'd usually straighten it or cut it wet. She gave me long layers, trimmed my ends and my bangs, and then I was sent to get my hair cleansed with the DevaCurl No-Poo and hydrated with the DevaCurl One Condition. My hair takes long enough to dry on its own. Then once my hair was dry, Erica snipped at my ends a little, and pinned my bangs back so I didn't have to wear my headband. She also suggested that when I come back in the fall, I could blow my bangs straight, since right now it would be pointless with the humidity. She was really nice about everything, and my cut looks great. I purchased all the products she used on my hair, and I'll be purchasing a diffuser in the future. I already booked my next two appointments and I'm extremely satisfied. Make an appointment today - you won't regret it.

Had my first devacut last Friday and I am so very pleased with it. In the past, I have had my hair cut at Christo fifth avenue and at Arte and came away disappointed both times. Had not had my hair cut in about a year and really wanted it shaped so that it stopped having the dreaded triangle look when it dried. Erica was so very nice and made me feel at ease right away. She cut it dry, used deva products, put me under a hair dryer and I was done. Had my first deva curly cut at this salon today. Everything about it was fantastic. They were so nice on the phone to me when I made the appointment, explaining the process to me. For my appointment Erica consulted with me on what I want and what my current routine was. She was so knowlegeable and taught me a lot and the haircut came really great. I had hopped around to hair salons looking for a good haircut. My last stylist used a razor to thin my hair. Needless to say, my hair had been shredded. Erica fixed my hair and after my third haircut all of my razored ends are finally gone. My hair has never felt or looked better. Even after the first haircut I could see the difference.
