FINALLY!!! Melissa is THE ONE who knows how to cut naturally curly hair! She has long, gorgeous naturally curly hair, so understands our pain and horror stories.
I found Melissa by asking my curly-haired bank teller--who always looks great--for the name of her stylist. She too loves Melissa.
I've been to Vivid a few times now, so know that you can depend on Melissa to:
-Cut it right the first time, so no going back for fixes.
-Take the time to blow out and cut your hair dry, if that's right for your curl type (mine is 3A-ish).
-Consistently give you a great cut that looks fab curly or straight.
-Cut it right for your face type.
-Know the possibilities for your curl type.
-Never try to upsell you; just builds trust one great cut after the other.
The salon is easy to get to from the Madison, WI, area. It takes me just 18 minutes from downtown. Considering that I never have to go back for her to fix my cuts, it takes much less time than going to salons that are just 5-10 minutes away.
Vivid is a new independent salon, but Melissa's been cutting hair for many years.
I've already tried several of the other stylists who you'll find on this and other websites. Melissa is the only one who really, truly knows what she's doing with curly hair. You will not be disappointed!!!
