I scheduled an appointment for a haircut and a blowout. When I walked in, my assigned stylist was very kind but she said she wanted to feel my hair before doing anything to it because she wasn't sure if she would be able to style it. She said that the person who cuts "ethnic" hair wasn't there right then. I sat down and then she went away for a bit. She came back and said that she didn't feel comfortable cutting or blowing out my hair because she wasn't experienced in "dealing" with my type of hair. I thanked her for not attempting something she wasn't trained for.
Nevertheless, it was very upsetting to hear the language that she used when talking about my hair. I've never been turned away from a salon before and I would not recommend this salon if you have curly hair. Mine is somewhere in between 3b and 3c.
