sentimental surprises

My brother's wife had their first child this week. They live an hour away from us so we loaded up Thursday, me, my mother, and my kids (who were out of school due to flooding) and went to visit. Due to the hospital allowing no visitors under the age of 18 because of the flu epidemic, my kids stayed at my brother's house while Mom and I took turns visiting.

When I was at the hospital, I took a bunch of photos on my phone. When it was turn to stay with the kids at home, we went to Walmart and put my phone's chip in an instant printer and had a bunch of photos in SIX minutes.

Then we went to Dollar Tree and bought a bunch of differnt styles of frames.

Then we went back to their house and in put photos in evey room of their 1st floor. Two went on the fridge in magnetic plastic frames, and the rest of the photos went into frames were wooden or metal and got scattered all around their house. One was a black wooden frame that had the word DREAMS carved out and the photo went above the word. The kids had a really good time picking out which photo went in which frame and then finding places to put them. It was like an Easter egg hunt! It helped them to not feel so left out of the baby situation.

My brother went home yesterday to see about their pets and found all the photos. He called me and he was over the moon! He said it was the best surprise ever and so sweet. He hasn't told his wife; he's going to wait and let her be surprised too. She might get to come home today.

I wanted to do something special for them and everything involved was less than $25. And it was so FUN!!!!!

Just think I used to worry 'bout things like that,
Used to worry 'bout rich and skinny, 'til I wound up poor and fat,
Nowadays I kind of worry where my mind's been at,
Just think I used to worry 'bout things like that. (Delbert McClinton - I Used to Worry from Never Been Rocked Enough)
That's very sweet! My hormonal butt would have been crying my eyes out if I had walked in to that with either kid!!
