Anyone up for a pre-swim suit season fitness challenge?

Checking off elliptical-ing for today.

I'm terrible at "dieting," but I am trying to eat more fruit and veg. Yesterday I had a banana with toast for breakfast and a spinach salad with carrots, white beans, walnuts, and a hard boiled egg for lunch. We got Chinese for dinner, so not a perfect day... But I got cucumber and avocado sushi rolls and also had soup and pot stickers. Pretty good considering what I could have gotten, I think.
I'd like to join!

I want to lose 15 pounds. I will weigh myself tomorrow morning and that will be my starting point.

I know I'll have to be pretty strict to lose 15 pounds in 10 weeks but I need to do something! (Isn't 1-2 pounds the recommended amount?) I'd really like it to be 20 but I know that's not realistic for me.

I finally got to the gym today. First, I got caught up watching the Pope coverage, so time was a little short and I stuck with the treadmill for 40 minutes ( about 2 miles.)

I did walk about a mile yesterday, too. Accompanying my daughter's band on a visit to the elementary school. You don't get to walk very fast, when walking along a bunch of middleschoolers, but hey, a walk is a walk (and I wasn't eating.)

When I got home, I was ravenous, and indulged more than I wanted to. Unfortunately, later in the afternoon, all I want to do is eat. I am now having a cup of tea, which hopefully will keep me out of the snack food.

I think I'll weigh myself and comment on that at the end of each week.

, I was recently tagged in pictures on fb...they made me sick.
Today I hit up spin class and then Pilates after. Tomorrow I need to lift!

I've been okay with not eating junk food (I had a mini pack of m&ms ) and great with drinking water. Mostly I tend to snack while studying so it's been hard getting used to not snacking.

I want to join this challenge! But I need to think about what my goals will be. I fell off the fitness/diet wagon so hard during the holidays, and I've gotten back on with the fitness in the past week or two. The diet part is still a disaster. I think my goals will be: 1) lose 10-15 pounds; 2) work on toning the abs, which I guess is more of a diet thing than an exercise thing; 3) cut down on sugar/try to satisfy my sweet tooth with fruit.

Today I swam 4,200 yards.
Tomorrow I am going to a 45-minute spin class, 30 minutes of core, then a 30-minute run. Hopefully also get in ~2,500 yards in the pool as well.
Gotta get some strength training in sometime soon too.

I have been eating my face off.

Yesterday I did some strength training (arms) ... Today I did p90x plyometrics (I almost died), tmrw ill try to do some cardio as well as arms again at a heavier weight than I did yesterday because they dont hurt which means I basically didnt workout Im going to start trying to do total body strength training because its said to burn more calories
Had my first weigh in and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Originally I said my weight loss goal would be 10-15, but now I'm making it 8-10.

In search of a lost signature...
I'll kinda join - Wild horses couldn't get me into a swimsuit under any circumstances but I do want to attend the Derby Oaks on May 3. At the end of last summer, when I bought the perfect Oaks pantsuit, I weighed 127 pounds. I weighed 137 this morning so my goal is to lose 10-12 pounds by May 3.

To get there, I'll
-get to the gym 4-5 days a week
-walk the dog at least 20 minutes a day
-drink more water
-track my calories in and my calories out
I did 35 mins on the treadmill this am. And I forewent the iced coffee again...haven't had one since Sunday. Maybe I will allow myself to splurge on Sundays?

I have cut way back on dairy. Not eating bread.

I'm afraid to weigh myself; my weight takes sooooooo long to come off at first. And I don't want to get discouraged!

I've had to shuffle some workouts around to do traveling for meetings. Yesterday morning I went to a 45-minute spin class, 30 minutes of core, and then ran for 30 minutes. After work, I lifted some weights for about half an hour. This morning I did 70 minutes of spinning (book club discussion time) and I am hoping to swim 4,000 yards this afternoon. Tomorrow is a day off!!!! Yay for sleeping in past 5am!!
You guys are so inspiring! I love this!

I am doing my upper body strength training today when I finish some emails. Trying to get those tank top and sleeveless dress arms! <-- Gotta be like this dude with no arm giggles

That's my goal of 3x per week, but I think I may try to get a "run" in tomorrow too.

Ate my last slices of toast for breakfast this morning. Yogurt and/or oatmeal for the next few days.
I did 15 minutes HIITILATES (

I used the machines at the gym today to work out my arms. I'm way too weak! I really want to get stronger. after, I went running for ~40 minutes on the treadmill.

I might skip cardio altogether tomorrow just to focus on strength training.

I like that this thread keeps me accountable. I held back on getting Starbucks today because I was thinking how I'd hate to admit it on the fitness thread.

Got my 4,000 yards done in 80 minutes. Now I'm pooped.

I haven't eaten any junk this week which is good, but I've eaten A LOT.
