If my hair is black with maybe 5% white that I'd like to to e down with cassia (which I'm hoping will also add gloss to my hair), may I ask what you'd mix the cassia with and how long you'd leave it in? Thank you !!
3b, fine, medium density, normal porosity
Wash: Deva No Poo, sometime Phytojoba, Avalon lemon when needs clarifying
Rinse-out: Deva One Condition, CJ Beauticurls Strengthening, Phytojoba (kinda heavy for my hair but good noisture)
Leave-in: Phytokeratine, CCCCL
Styling: Deva Coconut Supercream or their Wave Maker with a little CS over the top
I don't understand, what exactly is it you want to do to your hair? Cassia alone will only impart a yellow tint to your white hairs. As for the gloss...I'm not sure I believe that it actually does that, nor does it seem to make hair heavier. At least not mine.

I mix my cassia with tap water and a few drops of lemon juice and mix until it is of yogurt-like consistency. Too much acid and it will bleach the color out of the rest of your hair since your hair is dark--I've done it several times, but since I have lots of blonde and reddish highlights, it's fine. I cover and let the dye release for 12 hours, but I'm sure it's ready sooner. I then mix it with flaxseed gel, then apply it to my hair before bed and sleep with it in my hair. I've also applied without flax gel, and it's still fairly easy to rinse out. The flax gel makes your cassia stretch further.

I tried goldencurly's gloss recipe, and it didn't work for my hair. I even tried it twice, and it barely colored my grays, so I'm going back to my original method.

I hope that's not confusing. I only do my roots, so I can't give you measurements. I'm sure someone else can help out with that, or you can go to for more info.
OK, I admit it.....I'm an alias! I wasn't born with the name Honeycurls!
Dood, get over it; there's no time limit on lurking.

I so busy runnin' allllllll over the place and ain't nobody chasin' me!
