Like everyone has said, we all knew it was coming sooner or later, but it doesn't make it any less sad. For him to live as long as he did with pancreatic cancer is amazing, and seeing him interviewed during that time, I was inspired by how positive he was. He wasn't pitying himself at all. He will be very missed.

He did live surprisingly long with pancreatic cancer, and fought it well. RIP.

I just edited my topic too... I didn't know someone posted about it. OOPS!

I was reading on Access Hollywood some of the stars that reacted to his death via blogs or twitter or just official statements... some are really sweet!!!

"Patrick was a really good man, a funny man and one to whom I owe much that I can't ever repay. I believe in 'Ghost's' message, so he'll always be near." - Whoopi Goldberg said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

"Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace. Gorgeous and strong, he was a real cowboy with a tender heart. He was fearless and insisted on always doing his own stunts, so it was not surprising to me that the war he waged on his cancer was so courageous and dignified. When I think of him, I think
of being in his arms when we were kids, dancing, practicing the lift in the freezing lake, having a blast doing this tiny little movie we thought no one would ever see. My heart goes out to his wife and childhood sweetheart, Lisa Niemi, to his mom, Patsy, and to the rest of their family." -- Jennifer Grey said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

Many stars, including Demi Moore, chose to share their comments on Twitter.

mrskutcher (Demi Moore): "Patrick you are loved by so many and your light will forever shine in all of our lives..."And in the words of Sam to Molly. "It's amazing Molly. The love inside, you take it with you."I love and will miss you Patrick."

KirstieAlley: "I will always cherish my amazing memories of Patrick...we had so much fun together...come back soon Patrick, we need you here on earth."

RalphMacchio: "So saddened by this news. RIP dear Patrick, my fellow greaser. You fought the fight like no other. With dignity and grace."

DonnieWahlberg: "Moment of silence and respect... We just lost the subject of one of our best songs ever... And a true star... R.I.P. Patrick Swayze." - okay I'm confused which song is he talking about...

but I think this is my favorite....

MelissaEGilbert: "oh more pain for you. My prayers are with your beautiful Lisa and your family...Say hi to my Dad and my Pa."
