a green smoothie:

4 large strawberries
8 oz greek yogurt
8 oz coconut/almond milk
2 handfuls of collard greens
1 squirt of honey

pretty good

My friend gave me an asparagus and gruyere tart, and I've been snacking on that all afternoon, so we'll probably have something simple for dinner, maybe BLT's.

Boyfriend and I are starting the 17day diet tomorrow...really low carb. So pigging out on carbs tonight haha. Had awesome SUSHI earlier today and homemade pizzas for dinner. Maybe a few cocktails too since I'm off tomorrow

Turkey burgers with cheddar, herby mayo, baby spinach, tomato and pickles and whole grain rotini pasta salad with broccoli, grape tomatos, black olives and parmesan cheese.

Spaghetti marinara and turkey meatballs for the kiddos.

If all goes well, homesick texan's carnitas for the adults. I have another 2 hrs before I find out.

Also may try to make a practice birthday cake since I'm worried I'm going to mess it up on the day of. I found a pretty easy yellow cake recipe on Joe Pastry (TY Saria for introducing the website) I just need to find a me-proof chocolate frosting recipe that's not too sugary sweet.

In my fantasy world, I'd also make a real german black forest cake, but cherries in kirsch, or even kirsch alone is very difficult for me to locate.
He has a really easy classic chocolate frosting as well.
I also like sour cream chocolate frosting.

I just want to do what I want to do when I want to do it.
The last of the cheeseburger macaroni with tons of chopped up pickles, steamed broccoli, and thanks to my saint of a neighbor I also had purple hull peas! We were discussing earlier how I can't find them here, even canned ones, and a little while later she shows up at my door with some.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
Grilled cheese made with Swiss!
I think that I deceive genius.
Fish tacos. They were ok, but I need to find a better seasoning/cooking method.

Tonight I made beef stroganoff. The recipe was in the most recent Cooks Illustrated magazine. It was relatively quick (you used sirloin steak tips). It was yummy.

However, I've taken skate, which I love, and smeared it in a minty, basil-y, garlicky paste then grilled it. Those were some of the best fish tacos I've had. I've done grilled bass with Espelette and aji panca. Lime zest, cilantro, mint, and jalapeņo. Snapper dredged in flour mixed with a little chipotle powder and fried. It really depends on mood and what's available.
Red fish and a rice-veggie medeley. hmmmm!
I"m having a go at making this

Mushroom Pearl Barley Risotto

Fat does not make you fat. It's actually pretty important.
