Difficult Combination Hair

My daughter is almost 7 and she has some very pretty curls that I'm still learning to manage. However, the hair in the back of her head in right in the middle doesn't have much of a curl pattern. It's just mostly coarse and frizzy. I'm trying everything I can as I research online but nothing is working so far. I've not been able to find a stylist in my area either who is comfortable working with her hair. Is there anything I can do that will actually moisturize that section of her hair and that may help a curl pattern develop. People tell me you can train your hair but I don't know how true it its. I hate to think that there is nothing that I can do
If her hair is frizzy, try using more conditioner/leave in on that section. I have combination hair as well, I know how frustrating it is. Meanwhile, her hair will probably change as she gets older, so it might well even itself out

Frizzy means she does have a curl pattern you just aren't seeing it. What products and techniques are you using, are you following the Curly Girl method? Are you brushing her hair (if so don't), using enough leave in conditioner (loads), could it be sun damaged?

You may not necessarily need to moisturise (add or increase water) you may need to condition better, even reduce the amount of water entering the hair if it is porous. Too much water makes hair swell and can contribute to frizz, just as too little water can.
