When you were a baby...

My (wavey) hair came in early, but my curly twins had almost no hair until after their first birthday. Late hair and curliness do seem to corelate.
I hate looking at those pictures from my first birthday. Bald as could be! By the time I was 2, I had picture perfect Shirley Temple curls. Now I am a very dark burnette with 2b waves/curls (straighter on the top with the short layers and curls in the back).

My 25 year old was born with brown hair. Noticed some flat waves on the top at her first birthday. by 15 months, full blown wild golden curls! Much tighter than my were!

I was born w/ lots of dark, straight hair. As I got older it started getting wavy and then curly.

I was born with no hair, and then had very fine, straight blond until I was about two. It then came in light brown with wispy curls. I didn't get the curls that I now have, 3B, until I was about 12. I don't know why. I am 14 now and it gets curlier all the time.
I was born with a head full of 3b, 3c curls. It grew really fast but by the time I was 2 or 3 my entire head turned 4a.
3c/4a in the front, 4b in the back, with a few sprinkles of 3c in random spots.
I was born with a full head of nearly jet black hair that was PIN straight. My parents tell me that within a month or so it MAJORLY poofed... there are oh-so-many pictures to prove this
Messing with AOWC/AORM (but will always love AOHR) Also playing with KBB, KCKT & KCCC
Frustrated none the less... Keratin process set for 12/20 unless something changes before then.

My three kids:

My 7 year old daughter was born with long, straight jet black hair. She has always had a full head of hair. Now it is incredibly thick (volume), with coarse (thick) strands (much like Asian hair) and is 3c-4a. It also grows very fast, and is down to her butt (straight).

My 4 year daughter was practically bald until she was about 1-1/2 years old! Her hair finally fully thickened up when she turned 3. She now has fine and very soft strands, medium thickness hair and is 2b-3a. Her hair does not grow very fast. I keep it at about shoulder length (curly) because when it gets longer than that, it loses its curl.

My 2 year old son has always had a moderate amount of hair. He has medium thickness, medium textured strands. He has big 3b curls.

They all have light brown hair now.

I was born with a head full of jet black, straight hair. I now have 4a-b, thin cottony strands, medium-to-dense thickness hair.

kdcreigh 4a and b (who knows?)

I was born with a full head of hair. It was blond with waves until age 10, then it darkened and became curlier.
I'm 15 now, and it's brown with 2c/3a curls.

I was born with a full head of bone-straight hair that everybody thought was jet-black until my mom held me in front of a sunny window to show the red tint it had.

On my infant pic (approx 6-8 months old) most of the back and sides had 'rubbed off' and I had some longish 2b-3a curls on the top only.

By the time I was 3 or 4, I had a full-thickness dense head of 3b almost to my waist. It was reddish brown with red streaks mostly on top and front--probably because I used to spend most of my time outdoors in the sun.

Even though it's mostly brown now, it shows up as totally red when I take photos out in the sun. If I go to a salon and get curled with those stove curlers, it looks almost totally black. Some days I don't know what color my hair is.

My mom says I was born with a "perfect swirl of platinum hair." At my second birthday, I had chin length hair with baby ringlets at the bottom. As I got older it got darker and straighter and then around 11, it got wavy/curly again.
Not Cindy or Sindy or Syndey or any other such abomination.

Wow, my youngest sister's hair is just like this except it's about 3b. She and I have the same size curls except my hair is fine and hers is just as you decribed. Her hair is much less prone to frizz than mine (and it's jet black). It's harder to straighten, too. She had a head full of jet black, straight hair as a newborn. She was a very bald infant compared to me.

My daughter was a very bald infant too, but she now has a THIIICK, DENSE, FINE full head of 4a (whew!). Her hair actually seems finer than mine, it's like a big huge fluffy soft cloud. Her pigtails only come about to her neck, but when stretched it's well below her back. She inherited my color, though, hers has a more ash tone than red/auburn.

I was born with light brown curly hair. My mom said people always always accused her of giving me a perm. She said - Yeah, right- like I'd give my 2 yr old a perm! My hair turned darker and wavy until my teens, then got super curly. Now it's kinda in-between. My sister has stick straight blond hair, so people were always amazed that we were even related!

I was bald until at least two. That was the last time my scalp was seen! Shortly after, my hair became so thick and curly and has been ever since.

On the flip side, my oldest daughter (who is almost 21 now) was born with hair that was as thick as mine is now, poker straight, jet black (I am a blonde) and 2 1/2 inches in length at birth. All the mom's who had babies on the floor all came down to see this long-haired baby. She still has straight black hair that hasn't even a single wave in it.

People call her Pocahontas and me Shirley Temple. I am still amazed that someone with as curly hair as mine could have a straightie daughter.

My baby sister and I were born bald and started growing hair around 2 yo. We both grew in very curly hair. Hers is straight now and mine is curly. My middle sister was born with some hair, not a bunch, and her hair is just wavy. My son was born with a full head of bouncy tight curls, he lost all his baby hair and grew in straight hair of a different color! You never know what you're going to get!
Fine, thin 2C with some 3A, weighed down easily . CG since Aug 25!!!

Current Routine: Co-wash every 3 days, water wash or just spritz with water on days 1 and 2. Scrunch in about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp generic lube, plop for 5-10 minutes then leave it alone! I occasionally diffuse partially if hair is taking forever to dry.

Tried, didn't like: Suave gel

Like: VO5 Passionfruit conditioner, lube!

About to try: Suave Coconut conditioner, FOTE
I'm not alone!

I was bald until I was two!
Getting back into CG after several years of chemically straightening and pixie cuts
I was bald until I was 2. My mom said I was really unfortunate looking. I had a massive, square head, and huge purple-blue eyes. I believe the name "E.T." was whispered more than once when I was young.

Then I turned 2 and had LOTS of pretty golden waves. Those got thicker and darker and then I hit puberty. Literally, over night my hair turned curly.

I was born with the same fro I have now, LOL.

I was bald until 2. My mom asked the doctor more than once if that was normal.

I have "baby bangs" that have never grown, and never will. I call it my curse for cutting my own bangs when I was 5 years old. My two best friends were Thai twins, and they had bangs. I didn't know that my Mom could take me to the hairstylist to get bangs, so I did it myself. Looked simple enough My Mom still hasn't forgiven me.... She had me scheduled to sit for a portrait (oil painting to match the one she had done when my older brother was 5 years old) the next day. My Dad was watching me the night I cut it. Being a guy, when I came down to show him my pretty hair, he didn't notice anything different. My Mom hasn't forgiven him, either
I was born with alot of straight black hair,it got curlier by the time I was 1.All 3 of my kids were born with alot of straight hair too.My son's hair stayed straight until he was ready to turn 12(he's 13 now) and it got curly like my 2 oldest daughters.
3B-3C, alittle past tailbone length,age:41 years
I was born with a full head of nearly black hair. By the time I was 4 months old I had ringlets forming allover my head. By the time I was 4 year old I had hair down to my waist with 2c waves. It tightened up once my mom gave in and cut my hair. My hair is a growing machine at about an inch/month. That has never changed.
