Gains for one coming at expense of another?

I have seen a number of posts on here about the "Teabag/ Tea Party Movement (whatever we're calling them)," healthcare reform and the Obama administration. Being the lover of social commentary blogs that I am, I saw an interesting post on the blog Stuff White People Do (link below). I just wanted to know what you guys thought.
Also do you think this way of thinking can be applied to interactions between some minority groups as well?

Last Perm: November or December something or another

Impromptu decision to go natural: 2/12/10

Hair Type: Typing has never been my forte but there are medium curly bits and small curly bits and x-small curly bits and they all seem to get along

Gains by non-white people will always chip away at white privilege. And this really angers and frightens a lot of white people.
Gains by one group of people totally denied another their rights under the law, not just chipped away at them.

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.
Hear that crash? It's me falling off the CG wagon.
