My sister is on bedrest - update post #39, she had the baby!

I know right? My husband says my dad deserves it because he was the only man in a houseful of girls/women for so long. Now they outnumber us 7 to 3!

Congrats to your sister! I'm praying that she and little Jacob have speedy recoveries.

Got more info from my mom this morning... Jacob's CO2 level was around 80 last night, and was already down to 10-20 this morning so they should be able to take him off the vent. My sister had some bleeding so they gave her something to make her uterus contract so she's experiencing some pain with the contractions (I remember how awful the postpartum contractions were with Abram - worse than most of labor IMO).

That's great that she made it so far. I can only imagine how stressful it must have been for her.
Congratulations! I wish them both a speedy recovery.
Sounds like my family, Dad had all girls and now his girls are having nothing but boys .

Congratulations to your sister! I'm glad to hear baby Jacob is improving rapidly.
I'm so glad everything turned out well and they're both ok, it must be a great relief.

Went to see them last night! Jake is so tiny and adorable, but still much bigger than some of the babies in the NICU. Wow. My sister is doing well but has been having pretty bad postpartum contractions, which I remember all too well from after Abram was born.

Jacob came off the ventilator yesterday morning and will most likely be released from the NICU today. I don't know if they'll let her room-in with him since she had a C-section... her husband could definitely spend the night to help out; their older son could stay with us or my parents, but I think my sister might look at him sleeping in the nursery as her chance to get a good night's sleep. (not what I would do, but it's not me it's her)

She has been pumping regularly to build her supply and get colostrum for him. He's been fed through an IV to this point and they've been giving him a pacifier to help him learn how to suck so that he'll know how when he's able to attempt nursing.
