need good recipes for ground beef

I would like to find some good recipes that call for ground beef that I can substitute ground soy in. Does anyone have any recipes that that they really like?

I'm pretty much just cooking for myself right now so I'm not doing anything really spiffy, so I mainly just add ground beef to things like spaghetti sauce or mac and cheese. One good way though is to add worcestershire sause and other spices you like to beef patties and cook them in a pan or skillet with some onions and extra worcestershire sause (to sautee the onions in). Its yummy with a side of bbq sause to dip in. Ok, so the bbq sause is my addition b/c I love it. My sister uses ketchup, and my parents just eat it as is. A side of hash browns complements it well .

Here's a good recipe :
1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 c. dry bread crumbs
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 eggs
1 tsp. minced onion
1 can (15 oz ) tomatoe sauce (use half of it )

topping :
1 tbs. brown sugar
2 tbs. vineager
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbs. mustard
other half of tomatoe sauce

mix together beef , crumbs , salt , pepper , and eggs. Add onions and 1/2 of tomatoe sauce , form into a loaf. Bake at 350 for 50 minutes. in a saucepan combine topping ingredients bring to a boil. pour over meatloaf and bake for 10 more minutes.

Here are another couple of recipes you might try. I make the second one regularly, and I suggest adding extra water to make sure the rice gets thoroughly cooked.

8-10 leaves of cabbage

1 lb. ground beef
3/4 cup minute rice
1 large grated onion
2 grated carrots
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
a handful minced parsley
2 eggs

16 oz can tomato sauce
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup brown sugar or 1 cup raisins

Gently remove the cabbage leaves from the head. You want them to be intact. It may help to steam the head briefly before attempting this. Boil the leaves for a minute or two to make them soft enough to roll.

Combine the sauce ingredients in a saucepan and simmer, stirring, until the sugar dissolves (it will dissolve faster if you pour the lemon juice over it). Pour about 1/4 of the sauce into the bottom of a casserole dish or lasagna pan.

Combine all of the filling ingredients in a bowl. Make a ball out of a handful of the filling and roll it up in a cabbage leaf, rolling from the soft end to the spiny end. Put the resulting roll into the casserole dish with the sauce. Do this until you use up all of the filling, making 8-10 cabbage rolls. Then pour the remaining sauce over the top.

Bake approximately 30 minutes at 350 degrees.


Seven-Layer Casserole

1 c Rice, uncooked
16 oz Tomato sauce
1/2 c Onion, chopped
1 lb Hamburger
1 c Corn, whole kernel, drained
3/4 c Water, divided
1/2 c Green pepper, chopped

Saute the hamburger to remove excess fat. In a 2 quart casserole layer the ingredients as follows: rice, corn, salt and pepper, 1/2 of the tomato sauce, 1/2 cup water, onion, green pepper, ground beef, remaining tomatoe sauce and water. Cover and bake at 350 for 1 hour. Uncover and continue cooking another 25 minutes. A few slices of cheese placed on top adds a nice touch the last ten minutes.
Burritos are always a winner..
You can pick up burrito mixes at any grocery store...also pick up a pack of soft round tortillas
follow the mix instructions, and then i add cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and salsa. Roll it up and you're good to go!!!
