ORS Olive Oil Relaxer...?

Does anyone have any experience with Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Relaxer? The olive oil is supposed to protect the hair and it's meant to be a gentle relaxer. Would really appreciate reviews/stories - particularly from 3bs and 3cs (but others too!) Thanks.
Theres no gentle relaxers. I wish companies would stop marketing to innocent people like that. The olive oil may help a little bit, but a relaxer is still a relaxer

I concur...

Anything that breaks down the hair's composition isn't gentle. If that were so, the hair wouldn't be bone straight.

Haven't used a relaxer since like 1995 but they haven't seemed to changed much in their basic ingredients/process. A lot has to do with your hair type and how your hair is going into it. I think a type like a 3b may have more success than a 4a/b. My hair is mostly 3c with some 4a. It didn't eat it up but it also I don't think took 100% b/c it did not fully relax it. Of course I was in high school, probably didn't know what I was doing and messed it up.

My theory also may not be right since a white girl I knew used one (for black hair) and girl's hair became a broom. She was a regular permer/colorer though so that could explain the damage. People though that have the looser hair types seem to fair better with relaxers of any kind from what I've seen. And, I think relaxers are all basically alike.
Thanks all of you for replying. I am wary of relaxers and not going into it lightly. I have never used one before. Blackbanjogirl, my curl pattern is mostly 3b - so maybe it would work well on me.

I'm really only looking to loosen rather than straighten. I'm actually planning to kind of shave the sides short, so maybe I do those bits as a tester and if it doesn't go well, then they can be cut off anyway (would be about 20% of my hair.) Whereas I know it would be too much of a change for me to go short all over if it didn't turn out well! I guess I won't know unless I try. What if I left it on for less time than advised? Or would that just mean it wouldn't do anything? Sorry for the really naive questions - I've just never done it!
