How long should i keep my hair straight?
I have really thick 3b hair, so when i straighten it it takes forever. I dont want to just spend so much time straightening it and only have it for a day or two. Also how often should i straighten it? i prefer my hair straight because its easier for me to manage, i just dont want to ruin my hair at the same time.

I can normally go up to three days without washing but if you want to go longer you can use a dry shampoo or just put it in a ponytail. You'll want to wash again when the roots look greasy or you just know it doesn't look or feel right. It all depends on how oily your hair gets.

Hair type:3a
Cleanser: devacurl or devacare nopoo, dc lowpoo
Ro: DC onecon., KCKT
LI: DC onecon., KCKT, CJ cccl
Stylers: CJ cccl, FSG, Cj ciab, DC angel
Oils: coconut oil, apricot kernel, grapeseed

depending on how you take care of it a good straigtening can last from a week - several weeks. i usualy straighten my hair weekly and it looks nice and presentable until the day i wash it. of course the older it gets the less body it will have. it really depends on how you maintain the hair and how oily your scalp gets.

If you wrap your hair at night to protect it and don't use too many products that may cause build up while it is straight it may last longer. Also I usually avoid working out while my hair is straight and sweating so that my hair doesnt curl. I also use cooler water when I shower which I hate but the steam from the hot water would wreck my staright hair.
I flat iron my hair 2-3 times per year and when I do I can keep it straight for about a week to a week and a half. All I do is wrap my hair at night and in the morning comb or finger comb. I don't apply any more products unless it is a light serum for the ends.

After a few days my hair gets a little oily, but not terrible. It also starts to smell like i straightened it, but i suppose that is expected? Thank you everyone for the responses! And the great tips, i am excited to try them out :)
