Hi Tumi,Taking multivitamins or hair vitamins might be a good idea. You might have a deficiency of some vitamin or mineral that is needed for hair growth. For example, I have to make sure I take extra iron supplements or eat foods with iron in it because I don't have enough. It is important to focus on the inside (what you are eating and drinking) also, to ensure that your hair has the best environment to grow in. Examine your diet to be sure you are drinking lots of water, eating vitamin and mineral-rich fruits and vegetables, and getting enough protein. I can relate to this 100%! I am 4c and my hair can go 3 months without growing. I have twin sister, whose hair grows like clockwork. All in the genes I suppose. I just ended a 1 yr transition and during that time, I took a Horsetail Supplement which had about 35mg of silica, which is meant to be good for hair growth.I had some consistent results for a while, but then it started not having any effect. I went from half an inch a month to half an inch every two months..I upped my silica dosage to 250mg, from a Bamboo supplement and that was my limit. The supplements caused itchy rashes all over my body. I stopped that immediately and now just take a multi vitamin. After a year, I was tired of the hair growth journey and being focused on it so much. I was looking for products to grow hair all the time. I'd spent a lot of money on supplements and seen inconsistent results.Good luck with everything. I hope you get what you want to achieve. Remember to exercise patience, and don't put all your hopes in one supplement, product or regimen. I'm now at 5 inches, from nothing. I've decided to stop trying to alter my hair and just accept it.
