3B, highly porous, long, fine, low density, and 3/4 of it has fallen out in the last six years or so

I don't use heat on my hair, color my hair, or abuse my hair, but it just keeps falling out. It used to be so dense that the only way I could wear my hair up was by twirling a wooden spoon in it until my hair devoured it. Now? Now I'm ashamed to wear my hair down with how flat it is. I know I need to see a dermatologist but I don't know what kind of questions I should be asking. I don't know what to do other than to show pictures of what my sad hair used to look like in its glory days. Are there any products or procedures (hairstyles) I could be using in the mean time so I can go out in public?
