How to care for fine naturally curly hair?
I am pretty sure my hair type is around 2B/2C.I discovered the CG method around my sophomore year of HS which was about 3 years ago. I am currently a college freshman. I have been using the CG method till this day, but I noticed that my hair is not your average curly girl hair. My hair is fine, and I find it difficult to get volume. My routine hasn't been going well for me for some reason like high school years. I thought I was doing something wrong. I tried using a clarifying shampoo once every other week to see if that would make a difference to remove build-up but no success. Should I be following a different method since my curly hair is fine? Maybe I am not caring for it properly and treating it as if it were full and volumized. I sort of live by L.A. looks sport gel and the Kinky Curly Knot today leave-in. It's how I style my hair everyday and then I always diffuse. I refuse to leave the house without diffusing because air-drying makes me hair look dull and a bit flat. Please give me some suggestions or recommend what I should do. I really want to embrace my natural hair. I just need to know how to properly care for it. (I'll provide
Hi Happinessmoon, You have beautiful hair! It is very fine, so I have some tips that could help you care for it. 1.Don’t use heavy products – this will weigh your hair down and give you flat, volumeless hair. 2.Don’t apply too much product – your curls will lay flat and not spring up like they were made to! 3.Diffuse upside down – sounds funky, but if you diffuse upside down you will have more volume on top. I would try and find another product besides LA Gel. If you love the results, that's fine, but you might want to opt for something lighter for your fine hair. I would recommend Briogeo Leave-In Curl Definer, it’s super light and it’s a 2 in 1 so you don’t have to layer too many products. And it doesn’t leave hair crunchy at all.
