Hello,For one, don't flat iron anymore. Try to avoid heat styling in general, as well. Two, is to, and I don't know how to emphasize this any more, deep condition! One of my favorites is mayonnaise for dull and lifeless curls. Soak hair and leave it in for about 30-60 minutes and then rinse. Coconut oil and olive oil are good ones, too. I'm sure you can find tons of home remedies/products for deep conditioning online. Make sure to deep condition at least once a week, but doing it more won't hurt (unless you go overboard and over-moisturize). Keep up the moisture routines and add products and oils to her hair that will moisturize it. Try to avoid products with glycerin in it, because it strips your curls of any moisture. Have her wash her hair 1-2 times a week and co-wash and/or deep condition in between. Keep up this routine for a while, and hopefully her hair will go back to normal in a few weeks/months. If she's concerned about transitioning, there are plenty of NaturallyCurly articles on that. And don't forget to lay off the heat styling! Hope this helps! -curlyheadbri
