My hair is VERY tangled all the time, it's unbearable! Can this be fixed?

I have 3c hair and I've been natural for years. I used to straighten my hair everyday with little to no products up until about 3 years ago when I started my hair journey using natural products and cut down on straightening. I finally gave up heat completely 8 months ago and have been silicone free since the start of this year. I trim regularly and feel like heat damage isn't a major issue anymore. But my hair is always tangled and just seems to be getting progressively worse. I have very fine strands but A LOT of hair and I literally cry every time I have to de tangle it, I lose so much hair (full strands and snapped ends) despite trying to be careful. I can't get 2 days passed wash day without having to detangle and wash it again (and it's just as tangled every time) because it doesn't do anything as a tangled clump. I keep cutting my hair in the hope it will help but it doesn't. The best part is, I spend all that time detangling it, crying, stressing, for my hair to dry and be tangled from the root down. I deep condition, use oil treatments and spend a lot of money on products but I feel like it's just a waste of time... I have just been getting weaves as a protective style recently but it's mostly to avoid having to deal with my hair. I want to enjoy my natural hair but this is not enjoyable at all.. It really brings me down and I just wondered if there's anything I can do that I maybe haven't thought of? I also don't live in an area where there are many other naturals or even people with my hair type so it's hard to get professional advice that is relevant.
