I always straighten my hair, but I want to go natural. Where do I start?? Help needed.
Hi, nice to meet all of you! So I have a few questions, and I hope some of you could help me out a bit. Ever since I was very young ( about 7), I have been getting keratin(stopped about 2-3 years ago), and have been straightening my hair. I don't really like my hair straight (when it's natural it's 4a) because it's really dry and my hair feels just unwashed and gross, but I have no idea how to deal with my natural hair. I think it's really pretty, but I just don't know where to start(daily matininece, weekly, monthly I'm just unsure about it all). So does anyone know where to start, and just a simple routine?
Hi! I as well typically ALWAYS get my hair straightened... just about a few months ago I decided I was going to leave my hair curly all summer. This is has been very hard because like yourself I had no clue on where to begin. I actually took the curl type quiz on this site and that helped me with finding out what kind of products to use. I am a mix of 3 hair (3ABC) and my hair is really dry and bleached. So first I would recommend just finding out what best suites your hair. I invested in a lot of creamy, milky products, also looked for all natural deep conditioning treatments, conditioners, co-washes, and shampoo. This is where it gets a little pricey lol I usually rack up points at Walgreens and they typically always have sales for natural products buy 1 get 1 half off or free. Starting off it will be hard but just keep at a regular routine and your hair will start to form to its natural pattern. I would usually do treatments every week, put my products in and either do curlformers and/or put it in a cute updo or scarf. Try Youtube'ing different techniques on styling your hair type until you find the one that works best for you. Also! Stay away from shampoo'n so often as it dries out your hair. I usually co-wash every 4 days and shampoo twice a month to get rid of build up followed by a deep conditioner or masque. I cant even tell you how this alone changed my life!sorry for the lengthy details lol hope this helps.
