I am trying to grow my hair and want to try home made hair masks.

I have type 3a and I want to try a home made mask to encourage growth, tame frizz and moisturise. Which recipe should I use?

Hi CurlyPunk, I would definitely encourage you to use homemade hair masks to moisturize and condition your hair, but you should know that they will not help grow your hair. The reason is, there are certain proteins that are too big to really penetrate the hair shaft. That's the easiest way I can put it. Here's an article that will help you understand why: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/ingredie...So, if you're interested in hair growth, remember to eat well, get your rest, and stay away from heat tools. That's the guaranteed way to grow your hair, honestly! Sure, there are tricks you can do such as this DIY Black Pepper Scalp Stimulator but it's not guaranteed. You can try it out, but there's no better option than being healthy and avoiding stress for hair growth. That being said, doing homemade deep treatments is great for your hair! And I definitely suggest you do these once a week or bi-weekly. That will help keep your hair moisturized and frizz free like you want.
