Yep, the struggle is real. I'm using sulfate-free shampoo or co-wash and silicone-free conditioners and stylers, drying with microfiber headwraps (Turbie-Twist), sleeping on a satin pillowcase with my hair secured to prevent tangles, never using heat, and moisturizing relentlessly, but my hair is still only curly at the ends.My hair is curliest if I only comb when my hair is wet and has a product in it (ideally in the shower with conditioner, but can be if I re-wet it and put in a styling product). I am having some issues, too. My hair is 3a at the ends and 3b/c at the edges, but is loosed and wavier on the top, even when I diffuse it. I think ponytails and top-knots/pineapples might be causing this, because this has improved somewhat after spending some time wearing twist/braid-based styles that don't secure my hair completely flat on my head (twist toward the back on each side and make a roll, for example).
