I want to stop using shampoo, where do I go from here?
I just started researching and am realizing shampoo and conditioner are not good for my curls! Where do I go from here? I want my hair to be clean, not tangled, and less frizzy! Specifically what products should I use? Also, what products should I use for styling! I just don't know where to go from here now that I know I don't want to use shampoo. Please and thank you for any advice!
Start here:http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/no-poo/t...Following the Curly Girl Method is your best bet. You can use sulfate free shampoo periodically and wash with a light thin conditioner like V05 between shampoos (called co-washing). Removing products that contain silicone from your regimen is also imperative or else you will NEED a sulfate shampoo to get them off and remove build up! You need to wash one last time with a sulfate shampoo in order to clarify before you begin to remove any silicones that may be on your hair from previous products. This would also be a great time to deep condition with a bit of protein like Hask Keratin protein pack to bring moisture to hair so curls are being set up for success! For your hair type (based on visual curl pattern/texture) I'd recommend Shea Moisture Super Fruit 10 in 1 shampoo it's sulfate free (and then wash with V05 or Suave Naturals conditioner as many times in between shampoo washes until you need to shampoo again). Then use Tresemme Naturals or the Super Fruit as your rinse out conditioner. Apply styling products to sopping wet hair, (such as a curl enhancer like a bit of Deva Curl B'Leave In -cheaper on Amazon, and then a gel like LA Looks or for a lighter gel, Herbal Essence Totally Twisted gel) and then scrunch hair with a Tshirt to remove excess water. Air dry or diffuse. Two Youtube bloggers I found helpful as I got started on my CG journey are:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVwpRpEHdPUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGlgRWJ6zPc
