Is there other methods out there than the curly girl method?

I bought the Curly Girl Handbook and read the whole thing! I have been following the CG Method for a couple of months now and it is working fine.  I was just wondering if there was any other methods that have been tried by users on this site?  I do not use shampoo anymore, only cleansing conditioners.  I also have been avoiding silicone containing products.I ask this question because I recently found out that people who live in areas with a high dew point should avoid products with glycerin in them.  I looked at the products that I use and literally all of them have glycerin and I live in south Louisiana, where our dew point is usually 90 and above!! I guess that is why I've had to use so much product in my hair and then it starts to get weighed down.  So I would love suggestions on glycerin free products as well!I have type 3B hair and I am African American. Thanks girls!!

2 Answers the top of my head I don't know whether there are any other "official" methods out there. But many people modify the CG method to meet their hair needs. Example, some curlies don't use mineral oils, polyquats, etc. I'm not saying you should do this, but I am saying you can definitely change it up a bit if you don't want to use glycerin. Has your hair been affected by the glycerin? If you don't notice a difference, a think it's okay to use. Everyone's hair is different. But if you don't like the way your hair looks with glycerin, take a look at these products. Or you can shop the curlmart glycerin free section.
There's the "tightly curly method".
