Trying to start doing the LOC method along with co washing. Need help on products.
I have 3A high porosity hair. It tends to be more frizzy than everyone else's hair. I am looking for any advice and product suggestions.
I'm not 3a but I do have high porosity hair. My LOC method is recently:Leave In: Water, or Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner Repair Cream, or Jane Carter Solution Revitalizing Leave-In Conditioner - Sometimes its all of these, sometimes its only a spray bottle of water and one of these. The JC Leave in is actually a spray mist so it just depends on the look im going for.Oil: Olive oil, Castor oil, Coconut oil (Since coconut oil is a penetrating oil and i have high porosity hair, i always use another heavier oil with it i.e. olive oil), argan oil. Any oil that you like it really isnt a huge deal. But because you have high porosity hair I would use something slightly heavier to seal the moisture in.Cream: same CSB Leave in conditioning repair cream, my own whipped Shea butter and oil mix, or Kinky curly knot today. For me personally, I havent found a "staple" styling product for the cream part that isnt a leave in conditioner yet lol :(. It's definitely trial and error.I use Jane Carter's gentle sulfate free shampoo, and I condition with trader joes tea tree tingle conditioner. Sometimes i Pre-poo with coconut milk and honey or use that as a deep conditioner. Its GREAT for high porosity hair and acts as a light protein treatment helping tame the frizz.I hope this helps!
