What type of routine should I have for my hair? Pictures included!
I don't know what shampoo, conditioner, or leave in product to use. How should I wash/comb/dry my hair? How should I style it and how should I have it be at night when I'm sleeping? Help! I still don't know how to handle it :(
In order to answer this question accurately, I must know your hair porosity.
Welcome to NaturallyCurly! Sounds like you have a lot of questions around what a good regimen looks like. This will be a journey in an of itself. You will need to try different products, methods, and hairstyles to find something that works for you. Every head of hair is different, and what might work for someone else may not work for you. Your hair is lovely and doesn't need much help, but here is what I recommend for a regimen: 1. Wash and conditioner your hair with sulfate-free shampoo and silicone-free conditioner. My favorites are Elucence Moisture Benefits Shampoo and Mop Top Daily Conditioner. They're the best! 2. Detangle out of the shower with a wide tooth comb and a good leave in conditioner. Everyone loves Kinky Curly Knot Today. You can't go wrong with it. 3. Try the rake and shake method for applying your hair products. You'll want a good gel or cream gel to start with. You can experiment with different types of products later, but for now a simple gel will do. I love DevaCurl gel. It's well worth the price. That's a good base for your hair regimen. You can experiment with frizz fighters and sleeping methods along the way. Here's a great article about sleeping with curly hair. Good luck!
