How to get rid of white residue on scalp?

Whenever I would wash my hair, like today, there would be pale whiteness where my edges are. I scratched at it and white stuff came off. It's not itchy and I wash my hair regularly with shampoo and condition and deep condition every time I shampoo. Am I conditioning too much? What do I do? I don't want to use a clarifying shampoo because I heard it's very stripping, but if I have to, I will. Should shampoo 2-3 times instead of once? My scalp is never itchy so I don't know what's wrong.

Hello There (:You can try using an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse, mix 1/3 apple cider vinegar to one quart of water. You can store it in a bottle in the shower. If you would like to prepare a smaller batch of this vinegar hair rinse recipe to experiment with, try mixing 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of apple cider vinegar into 1 cup (250 ml) of warm filtered tap water.Rinsing with apple cider vinegar will help balance the pH of your hair and remove the buildup that can result from the use of these styling products and inexpensive shampoos. You can use it as you would shampoo. I hope this helps!
Okay... Apple Cider Vinegar. So I just use it to rinse off the shampoo, or as a shampoo? I'm new to ACV....
You can use it before you shampoo if you like or use it as a shampoo itself. Both ways work really well.
Thank you Thank you thank you THANK YOU! I did what you said and the white residue is GONE! My hair FINALLY feels clean.
