Why do I have an oily scalp when using no-poos?

I've been trying out a lot of no-poos and co-washes lately and I notice that my scalp is extra oily when I use them. Does that mean my hair needs shampoo to be clean?Has anyone else had this problem?

You might have to use a shampoo with sulfates to get it really clean. Gentle sulfates.
Hi, I have 2b hair too and I use a gentle sulfate-free cleanser once a week and a cleansing conditioner twice a week between each wash. I don't think most wavy hair can totally handle eliminating shampoo, but cut down as much as possible. Co-washing is great though because you get rid of oil, but don't dry your scalp out.
