Should I color my hair?

I will be entering my junior year in high school this fall. I was thinking of cutting my hair a few inches and coloring it a reddish brown. I already have several grays and they are quite noticeable. Is it a good idea to color my hair now? If I do what type of color should I get? I want something that will do the least damage.

Coloring your hair is truly a personal preference. I find that the right type of color will add shine, and condition to the hair. But hair color of any type does require maintenance. Once you do it , you need to keep it up or grow it out. To begin your journey into color I would recommend a demi-pemanant color. There is no ammonia in that and it will not lift or lighten your natural color. It will lay over-top your color and enhance it. (Picture putting red paint on a brown wall. You warm it up and change the tone)The closer you stay to your natural color the less noticeable the regrowth will be and the more time you can go between touch ups. Start out slowness. You can always do more as you go on. I would stay away from hennas and natural products that contain metallic salts. If you should color your hair, be sure to compensate for this in your wash, treat and styling routine. The Macadamia Professional products have 3 different collections based on the moisture needs of your hair. All contain a combination of Macadamia and Argan oil to absorb and penetrate the hair strand keeping it healthy from the inside out. AND, they are color safe :-)not to mention, sulfate free, paraben free, gluten free, and cruelty free. Have fun and enjoy your new look.Be sure if you do color it to compensate for that in your cleansing, treatment and styling routine.
