Can you deep condition after doing a rinse-out or are you supposed to choose between the two?

I was watching a YouTube video, and the person stated that they used a rinse-out conditioner and then deep conditioned afterwards. I was always under the impression that you do one or the other, not both on the same day.

You can, but it's usually a waste of the rinse-out product. It's sort of like buttering your bread, scraping it off, then buttering it again, except with a larger amount. The only instance where it might be beneficial is for people with extremely low-porosity hair that need a sort of kick-start on getting the moisture to penetrate their hair, in preparation for the deep conditioning treatment. I have med-porosity hair, so I can't say if there is truly a benefit or not for low-porosity hair types.
