Why is Kinky Curly Knot Today making my hair feel like wax??

I am trying to go back to CG method after being away for years. My hair is 3a/3b combo, very fine, falling out, breaks easily, dry and high porosity due to coloring. Using As I Am Cleansing CoWash as a cleanser, CJ Daily Fix after as a conditioner (and have other conditioners coming to use by CJ), KCKT as a leave in, and Aussie Freeze gel as styler. My hair feels like wax and is severely tangled even after using KCKT. When I break the Aussie gel cast, I can't finger comb through it because it is so tangled and it feels AWFUL and waxy feeling. I think it is the KCKT because I have changed up the cleansers and conditioners, staying cone free and glycerin free, and it is the same every time and that is the only commonality. My hair seems to hate glycerin, 'cones, and shea butter. I am so tired of spending so much money on product that does not seem to work for my hair. It is SO wasteful, and personally I am tired of spending so much time researching this and having bottles and bottles of things I cannot use at the house. Please help!** (Have ordered CJ Beauticurls leave in, camille rose aloe butter, and the CJ aloe argan daily conditioner to use with the As I Am cleansing co wash to try the LOC method, as well as the CJ Curly Queen gel to use as a styler, but after that, I give up!) **

I'm so sorry I know finding the right products for the right weather can be torturous! I do encourage you to return products to places that allow you to do so. That helped me so much at the beginning. I find it strange that that is the product that you think is doing it. I would assume it was the co-wash maybe. However one thing you can do is to try products all from one company as they usually play well with each other. I keep a hair journal. That way as I'm trying new combos (and trying to use up my stash of products I can figure out what works well together and what doesn't). It also let's me know what looks good for 2 days or just one, etc. etc. The KCKT is very water based it's hard to imagine it would be doing this. But try a creamier leave in or a bit of oil if you can't tolerate shea butter etc. My hair hates glycerin but can do Shea Butter if there are other oils in the mix and the same goes for Coconut as long as it's not the only oil/butter. Good luck!
I can't do any Aussie.  Their products seem to dry out my hair and does make it hard!  I currently use and always suggest herbal essence mouse.  It comes in different levels of control which is awesome for the changing weather.  That waxy feeling is product buildup, I can that even when I use coconut oil over several days!  Apple cider vinegar can help remove that build up.
