Type 2b (mostly) hair is frizzy and coarse! Any suggestions??

I've got all Type 2 curls on my head - and even some 3a ringlets. Putting aside the schizo curl patterns, I don't have a lot of hair and the curls and waves I do have tend to be fairly fragile in some places (corresponding to the schizo curl patterns). My hair, though, is coarse feeling and always frizzy. My problem is this: to get the smoothness and softness I want, I have to use products that weigh my hair down and cause my curl to relax. To allow my curls the springyness I'd like, I have to use lighter products - but get more frizz and more coarseness. Is there anyway to smooth my coarse, frizzy hair and still let my curls have bounce and lightness? FYI: I've been CG for about 6 months now. Here's my usual routine:- Co-wash with Suave Naturals everyday or every other (my curls always fall out when I sleep - I have major bed head lol - so I have to completely rewet my hair to get them back)- Shampoo (once or twice a week) with Organix Coconut Milk Shampoo or Aveeno Pure Renewal Sulfate-Free Shampoo- DevaCurl Set It Free and Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl and Style Milk to style (use when damp and when dry as a pick me up)

Sounds like you should try a cocktail. If the products you use are moisturizing but too heavy, maybe you should try making a cocktail of light gel mixed with a little bit of leave in. Have you checked out our recipes section? http://www.naturallycurly.com/recipes/search It's full of really great ideas. A lot of people swear by flaxseed gel. That might be light enough for your waves. Good luck!
