What is in Jane Carter Hair Conditioner could be make my hair dry? Protein or silicone?

The conditioner smells great! I can not see from the ingredient list what could be making my hair so dry after rinsing it out. It doesnt appear to have any proteins or silicones.  I have used it on wet hair, with and without heat with the same result.

Does it contain sulfates ??
hmmm...good question. check it out for me? I see BHMS, but thats okay. Deionized water, behentrimonium methosulfate, glycerin, cetearyl alcohol, ceteareth 20, extracts of: green tea, sage, rosemary, basil, mullein, licorice, thyme and vanilla, certified organic: sunflower oil, aloe vera, jojoba oil, lavender oil, lemon oil, wheat protein, wheat amino acids, tocopherol, lecithin, panthenol, caprylic acid, glycine, phenoxyethanol, potassium sorbate and citric acid.
I sent an email to the company, and I got a really fast and super nice response. I asked about three products I was having trouble using. I am coming around to the fact that my hair can be protein sensitive. I can balance this by using another type of conditioner after the protein one. My only frustration is that I love the line so much, I hate to mix. Here is the response:Hi Veronica, You've nailed it. These products all contain protein. We currently use hydrolyzed wheat protein but are making the switch to quinoa protein soon due to increased gluten allergy awareness. What product are you referring to when you say "hair cream?" The thing about protein is, you have to get just the right balance, too much can make hair card or the cuticle swell, too little and your hair can be a tangled mess. Perhaps you have this experience with Condition & Sculpt on wet hair since your hair is most absorbent when it's wet. Only a handful of our products contain protein: Condition & Sculpt, Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner, Revitalizing Leave In Conditioner, Quench, Twist Out Foam, Both Shampoos, Wrap & Roll. For Twist Outs I can recommend Curl Defining Cream or Incredible Curls and Creamy Leave In Styling Smoother. Please let me know what other questions you have. Would love to help you get to the bottom of this. Best, Cali
