Are mineral oils bad for my 4C natural hair?

1 Answer

In some respects mineral oil is a sealant; when mineral oil applied to the strands it leaves a coating which doesn't allow moisture in or out. However, it's a thicker substance that weighs down on the strands and is hard to get off. Say you moisturize and seal with that and you strands need to be moisturized 2 days later, you would have to completely wash your hair, with shampoo, to remove the mineral oil from your hair. It's better to use a butter or an oil.
