2b/c and struggling to find the right products!

Currently I have 2b/c hair (on the thinner side) because it is a few inches above my waistline - when its shorter its more like a 2c/3a, but I don't plan on cutting it. I have been wearing my natural hair for years now, but as it gets longer I struggle to keep the curls to hold and stay frizz-free. They just tend to get weighed down by the end of the day and I feel like they could be more defined. I mostly air-dry and when I diffuse them, it definitely helps the definition part, but leads to sometimes being a bit frizzier. And I try not to diffuse a lot because I know heat is bad for your hair, but is diffusing really that bad? I've tried everything over the years- creams, mousse, gels, sprays, etc. I just bought Miss Jessie's pillow soft curls and it's only the first day, but it's not as great as I expected. I just feel like my hair could look better. Anything will be of help, thank you!

Hi Marissa,I've seen a lot of people diffuse their hair until it's about 70-80% dry, and air-drying it the rest of the way to prevent heat damage and frizz. One of the products I use and LOVE is Shea Moisture's Coconut & Hibiscus Frizz-Free Curl Mousse. What I suggest for your curls weighing down, might have to do with you putting your hair up. I have an awful habit where I throw my hair up in a bun or ponytail if it gets in my face, which always leads to my curls falling and becoming droopy and lifeless. Try keeping your hair down, especially with Day 1 curls, for as long as possible so your curl pattern isn't destroyed. Another thing may be that you're either not using enough product, or you're putting in too much and it's weighing your curls down and preventing them from shaping. Try testing the amount of products you use on wash day, and using less or putting more of a holding product in. Hope this helps! :)-CurlyheadBri
I have the gel from the pillow soft curls line. I apply it after my hair is dried by smoothing it down my hair without running my fingers through. It almost completely eliminates frizz for me.
