I am african american and I want to use products not just marketed for my race what do I use?

I have a wavy tight curled mixer as my hair so I think that I am in the middle of a 3b and a 3c.It is wavy at my roots and then soft curls about two inches away.I want to know if it was ok for me to use products like healthy sexy hair, tresemme, macadamia deep repair masque, not your mothers shampoo,TIGI s factor shampoo,AG hair cosmetics,CHI,etc.....I know that it is all about how your hair reacts but,my family says to just use things markets to our race.My great grandmother had long wavy hair down her back which my mom says is where I get part of my hair from and the other half is from my grandmother because she had very soft curly hair.I am also transitioning to become natural and I am 14 years old.

Anything moisturizing and hydrating is great for your hairtype. Just check the first ingredient on the back of your poo bottle and if it says aqua(water) then you are good to go.
You should try the product called "mixed chicks"
Best way to choose ingredients/products is by hair properties. Here's a link to help you with yours http://livecurlylivefree.com/curly-hair-basics/ You probably want to start reading the threads on Curl Talk. You can learn a lot there.
I am also African American, and I love to use the product brands: Tresemme, Garnier Fructis, and Herbal Essence.
herbal essence, shea moisture, aussie, tresemme, suave, wen,
