Hi Loving3bcurls, You will get buildup if you use lots of thick products that are not water soluble. Water soluble means it can dissolve in water. To test this out, you can rub your product on your hands and then try to wash it off. If it's not coming off easily, it will cause buildup. Moisturize your hair with something that is light and silicone free. Your camille rose moisturizer is silicone free, so you shouldn't get too much buildup there. But coconut oil is very thick, and does not wash off easily. So don't use that too often. I would suggest using coconut oil as a pre-poo (something you apply before you shower and then wash off). I wouldn't recommend leaving it in. My favorite light, water soluble moisturizers are Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave In, and Oyin Handmade Hair Dew. They use all natural ingredients and it leaves your hair feeling super soft and moisturized. You can use the hair dew in dry hair too, so if you feel like your hair needs more moisture between washes you can use it. Good luck! Let me know if you have any more questions. :)
