Can a product like Flaxseed Gel or Shea Moisture Curling Souffle be used in the winter?
I've read that gels can have a reverse effect in terms of bringing moisture to the hair. I always have a hard time finding products that work for me in the winter. Gels are one of the only things that keep my hair feeling soft and moisturized. Plus I don't always have time to do my hair and the gels keep my hair moisturized longer.
I'm not sure how gels work in the winter but it could be helpfull to release the gel cast before you go outside otherwise your hair might freeze which could lead to breakage. Gels do not really ADD moisture but they LOCK the moisture. Start with a leave in conditioner or a heavy butter in winter times and then seal it with the gel to lock in the moisture. The lco/loc method is great as well.
