Should I use a thermal protection for my Arizona sunshine?

I live in a corner of Arizona, US where the summer temperatures routinely reach 120 degrees and higher. My hair is naturally red, long-ish and I think type 2B, and I'm wondering if I should invest in some thermal protection products for when I'm out and about in the sun. Any suggestions???

Yes. Hair can get "burned" just like skin. Look for a product with UVA/UVB suncreen protection.
Yes, you should. Especially if you spend a lot of time outside, and especially for those 120 F days. Ouch! I love Moroccan Oil Thermal Protection spray. You can spray it on before you go outside and you'll be good to go. But if you just plain forget your spray at home, style your hair in protective styles like braids and buns. http://www.moroccanoil.com/usa/h_us_en/heat-styling-protection
