How do I get my natural curls back after being straightened for the first time in years :(

I recently go my hair straightened for the first time in about two years and now some of my hair is bone straight and some of it is beautiful and curly. I have been hysterical trying to get my curls back. I am majorly upset because I do not get my hair straightened often and now this happens. I don't know what I am going to do if I have to cut it.

Hey Jayla.Howell,I'm sorry to hear about your hair. It sounds like it has been damaged by the heat as it could have been just too hot or on the strands too long. Unfortunately, you can incur heat damage with even just one application and heat damage is irreversible. You can either chop it off or you can slowly trim it away and mask those hairs by curling them with rollers, flex rods or pin curls. You can do styles like two-strands twists, twist-outs or braid-outs that will allow all the hair to have the same curly look or just roller set your hair for uniformity. Leave the heat alone, use moisturizing products (shampoos, conditioners) and trim accordingly (every few months, less or more dependent upon how quickly you want to grow out your heat damaged hair) and you will recover. Best,Sabrina
