I am from India too :) Transitioning is challenging because you’re dealing with two different hair textures. You can’t turn hair that has been straightened back into its natural curly state. Here's an article from my blog that will help you in your journey - http://www.curlsandbeautydiary.com/how-to-transit...

I think the best solution would be to start trimming the ends. Depending on how fast your hair grows (mine grows like crazy) you could cut a lot off.

You'll either have to straighten the top to match the ends, or cut off the straight ends and then let it all grow out curly. And you don't have to live with the frizz and the poof. You can work to de-frizz the curly part using some of the techniques discussed on this site.
