Why won't my hair go back to its natural curl?

Help! I straightened my hair and it won't go back to my natural curl. I used a hot comb then a flat iron. I've tried shampooing my hair, deep conditioning and even used a chelating shampoo. This isn't the first time this has happened I just always cut the straight strands. I am tired of doing that though. I was wondering what am I doing wrong and is there a way to fix this?

Honestly, I would just say stop flat ironing your hair. If you've done all the precautions and you used a heat protectant before you used both those tools, if you made sure the heat wasn't too hot for your hair type (fine hair doesn't need such high heat), then I'm not sure what else could have been done. I've been natural for about 5 years and I've learned not to fight my hair and not repeat the same mistakes again.
