After I wash, I curl my hair once until next wash (4-5 days). Is healthier or just as damaging?

I am a 2a curl type and have within the last year or so started to try to heal my hair from all my hair dying and styling.  After much training, I can go about 4-5 days without washing my hair.  Once I wash my hair I let it air dry as much as possible and blow dry it the rest of the way.  I then take my curling wand and curl my hair all over.  Letting my hair set for about 10 minutes after heat, I brush my hair and then go to bed.  I don't apply any additional heat until my next wash day, so I work with my second day curls, third day and so forth (using dry shampoo and some glosses at the end of my hair to get me through until wash time).  I was wondering if my methods are better for my hair since I am not applying heat every day, or is it still just as damaging?
