I'm 5 months into going natural and it looks really bad. I don't know what to do can anyone help?
I relaxed my hair for the last time early July and stopped all straightening heat applying etc.in August. I was finally tired of perming and straightening my hair, and going natural was something I've wanted to do for a really long time and have tried a few times previously but always got scared and backed out. But this time I really wanted to follow through so I did a ton of research and found a good way to start is by getting twist or braids so to help get myself off on the right track I got braids professionally done. During that time I took care of my hair, I sprayed it with moisture products used dry shampoo spray because of the type of braids I got I couldn't wash them really, I wore a scarf to bed etc. So I kept them really nice, they even still looked really good up until I took them out which I did a few days ago. I don't want to get ahead of myself with typing but I have a cross between 3C and 4A hair its the extremely unbelievably coily springy kind and it grew like crazy, I've probably gotten 3-4 inches of new growth and I'm pretty happy with that but all the other things I read about and expected happened after washing it alot of hair came out (normal hair shedding builld up that didn't get to happen while in braids) and then when I brushed through I lost more which I think is unfortunate breakage which I've had to deal with since I can remember (I always lose alot of hair when I brush while its wet).
And now I'm at the spot I've read about so much, the awkward transition stage where you have natural hair growing but you have alot of permed hair, I'm starting to regret and want to just give up but I really don't want to. I know I could do the big chop but I'm too scared with the current amount of new hair, I just don't think I'd look good. I guess it doesn't help that my family and friends think I should just give up too so I'm feeling really discouraged. I thought I'd be ok because I planned for this point I got all the stuff for(co-washes, deep conditions, moisture locking aloes, creams and oils, detangling, and even transition style ready) but its nothing's working. Sorry this is so long but I don't know what to do :(
Any advice is appreciated

I am currently 10 months post relaxer, and the same thing was happening when i was 5-6 months transitionimg. Find a style that works for you, it may mean trying something different. For me twist outs didn't work as well anymore, so i turned to buns and the goddess braid. Personally i suggest cutting some length off of your relaxed ends. When while I've been transitioning i maintained shoulder length by large frequent trims. As for breakage, people say breakage increases when you're transitioning. For me I've always had a lot of shedding, nor can i remember the exact amount compared to now. Since you're not comfortable with big chopping, id just take care of my hair health wise and bun it, just don't give up!

I understand what your going through I am 11 months in to my transitioning phase and my hair is getting long but I still have relaxed ends. When I first started out the place I went to was YouTube this is how I learned how to do styles tat blended my new growth and my relaxed ins well. Some suggestions for your hair would be a braid out , weaves, wigs, and even twist outs. like I said te best place to find ideas for your hair are on youtube. I hope thi helps you in ypur journey and good luck.
