Is Shea Moisture making my hair itch or is it just me?

Hello,I am going through the transitioning process with my natural hair growing on top of my permed parts. I have not permed my hair since last year and I stopped flat ironing my hair for a month. My hair is type 4b or 4c (I am not too sure) and I began using shea moisture for about a month because a friend who has natural hair recommended it to me. It is the first time I have been using a natural hair product as well. When I used Shea Moisture the first time it felt so good my hair felt like it was recieving the moisture it needs while I was washing it. I wash my hair once a week but after about 4 or 5 days of using it my hair itches a lot and I cant wait to wash it. My scalp is pretty damaged and it is dry and has dandruff after years of perming it but I do want to know whether it is normal for itching to happen a couple days afyer using shampoo and conditioner or whether its just my scalp and I shou just wash my hair a bit more often. To be more specific I use the Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo with Sea Kelp and Argan Oil but I have been thinking of switching to the Organic African black soup shampoo which is the one with the black label and targets dry, itchy scalp with dandruff . My sister said that it maybe because my scalp is adjusting to this new product but I am not sure. Should I try a completely different brand of hair care products or should I switch to a different line of shea moisture products (the one with the black label) or what im going through is normal and I should just keep using what I already have?

Maybe you're allergic to something in the shampoo? Maybe you should switch to something else. Personally I don't use shampoos at all, I use either liquid Black soap or Castile soap and both work just as well as a shampoo. As for the dry scalp, maybe apply oils like olive oil or castor oil to it regularly.
it may as I heard and read that before - think you need lighter products as that coats alot
