Tips and products for beginning transitioner!

I made the decision to go natural recently with my last relaxer being in April. I dyed my hair jet black and of course, I have been trying to keep it as moisturized as possible since I tend to have dry hair and scalp. Although it has only been a few short months, my new growth is coming in full force and the once-sleek styles I'm accustomed to doing with a relaxer such as high buns with baby hairs tend to curl up around the edges and leave me sleek at the top but an Afro-like headband around my head. What are some products that are good for transitioning hair, especially for unruly edges? I have been using Cantu and ORS products for a while, but I'm curious to try different ones. Also, what are some styles for the beginning stages of transitioning? This is coming from a 20-year-old who has had a relaxer since she was about 4. I'm eager to embrace and grow out my natural texture but choosing styles that work has been difficult, especially in this New Orleans summer heat. I don't plan to big chop but I am used to getting shorter bob cuts and such which I plan to do this week. All tips are welcome. Thanks!

As your hair transitions, you might find it difficult to blend the natural hair with the relaxed hair. You should try doing twist outs, braid outs, and flexi/perm rod sets to create pretty curls. There's a ton of tutorials on youtube if you need help. Also, eco styler gel is a really nice gel to use that won't dry out your hair.
