Winter Styling While Transitioning

Hi! I'm gong into my sixth month of transitioning in rural Massachusetts. I have been doing perm rod sets pretty much since I started transitioning, but since it's getting colder very rapidly, I want to wear hats (because it's chilly up here!) so perm rod sets won't really cut it anymore. I'm a college student, so I don't have a *ton* of time to spend on styling, and there's really no reliable natural hair specialist in the area. My hair, btw, looks like it's coming in 3c/4a at the top and maybe 4b and 4c at the nape and in some patches? My hair is thick but not as bad as it could be at this point, I suppose. Don't know if that helps. Anyone have any ideas for good winter styles for a transitioner? Pictures welcome! :)
