Hair still appears damaged 6 years after long transition?

Hello! I started transitioning in the summer of 2011 after almost 8 years of relaxers. I would say that my hair has been relaxer-free for at least 2 years, but my ends and the hair on the crown of my head are constantly dry, thin, and frizzy even when wet. I constantly trim off the damaged ends and I only do braid outs and wear my hair in buns (The damage makes wearing my hair out an impossibility), so I'm not sure why my ends are so stressed. I pretty much exclusively use Cantu Shea leave in conditioner, rinse with ACV on wash day, and Shea Moisture's Raw Shea Butter line. I confess i don't drink as much water as i should or eat well, but I also have to be doing something wrong in my routine. PLEASE HELP!!!

A protein treatment might help make your hair stronger. I would also recommend trying different products. It is recommended on this site to do a protein treatment one or twice a month. Good luck!
