What to do with my hair,i dont want to keep retwist every night?

I have 4b/4c hair and I'm tired of retwisting my hair and my twist outs don't last more than one day maybe because I don't use some type of product to hold hairstyles. I feel trapped with this style just to keep my hair from matting up.I don't want to keep being a slave to my hair styling everyday,I want to just let it be sometimes.I don't want to keep wearing a fro as well.Help please!

Hi Simplyshan,If you want your twist-outs to have longer hold, you either need time, or product. If you leave the twist in for a long time (maybe 2-3 days or more) your twist out should last a bit longer. You can even use this a solution to wanting more styles. If you neatly style your twists, you can wear them as a style for a few days and then wear your twist-out for a few days. Using a holding product like a curling cream, a pomade, a butter, or a gel will help give your twist-out some help to hold the style. Also, take into consideration that different hair types may get different results and staying power in stretched styles. So if you don't get your twist out to last without at least retwisting in larger sections or braiding larger sections at night, don't feel like you are doing something wrong. Some curly girls can get second day hair and others have to accept the fact that they need to almost start over everyday. I'm not even just referring to different curl patterns, but even within the same curl pattern there are many other factors that can affect this. Don't be discouraged though, as I hinted at before you can cycle through a set of styles instead of being locked into one. Style your twists and rock those for a few days.Wear your twist out and then re-twist or use large loose braids or twists to preserve the style at night (I think loose braids or flat twist work best). When the twist-out isn't looking like you want it to anymore, try an updo or twist pin or braid back one or both sides so that becomes the focal point rather than your aging twist out ;) This can go on for a few days too, its up to you!The possibilities of what you can do with your hair are so varied and numerous! I know what u mean here. When I do twist outs I must either retwist in 4 to 6 bigger section and wrap them around flexirods, or put them into 4 to 6 big braids. Ocassionaly, I can go to bed without doing this and still have good twist out in the morning, but to do this without it coming out crunchy or flat, I have 2 do LOC and then use a head band to keep the curls on top ( a kinda pinapple, lol ) and cover that with my satin scarf.
